Helping the
community that I live in is one of the keys to my business. It makes me
acutely aware of how much our community needs various organisations to help
those amongst us who aren't quite as fortunate as you or me.
In
Australia:
1 in 4
pregnancies end in loss
1 in 10 babies
are premature
1 in 135 babies
are stillborn
1 in 6 couples
experience infertility
3% of mothers
had babies through assisted reproductive technology or IVF
For
a modern country such as ours, these figures are staggering and as I was
involved in raising funds for the Bonnie Babes Foundation from 2006 through to
2010, the decision to carry on in raising both funds and awareness for the Angel
Babies Foundation was an easy one when you take in those rather distressing
figures. More than that though, these parents and parents to be, go
through some very hellish times and the work that Angel
Babies Foundation provides makes that journey just a little bit easier.

Angel
Babies Foundation provides free counselling and information to individuals
and families across Australia experiencing anxiety, grief or loss related to infertility,
ectopic
pregnancy, miscarriage,
perinatal
death, stillbirth,
premature
birth or neonatal
death. For Fact Sheets on these areas, click here to be taken to the Angel Babies Foundation
website.
The
Project - Kids Down Under
Kids
Down Under is an exquisite coffee table book that features our Australian
children. It is a unique fundraising project for the Angel Babies Foundation. Children from newborn to 15 years old will be
professionally photographed by an accredited photographer. One of the images
taken of your child is guaranteed to appear in Kids Down Under book.
There
is no cost for the photography. All that is required is a $50.00 donation for
the first child or $75.00 for all children from the same family, to the Angel
Babies Foundation when you register.

The
Kids Down Under project has been set up to raise funds for the Angel Babies
Foundation to train counsellors to provide support services. 100% of your
donation goes to the Angel Babies Foundation. Photographers provide their services free
of charge and one photograph from the photographic session that takes place will
be selected to be published in the Kids Down Under book.
The
book will be printed and delivered in time for Christmas 2011 and at the time of
the viewing of the created portraits for you, the detailing for your book or
books will take place so that it is all arranged for you. Books
are $154 plus $15 in freight delivered to you by express courier.
Time
is short for this year as photography for this book closes 1st August
2011. To be included in your area, you can do so by encouraging your
friends and families to be involved in this. It is a great opportunity to
have a photographer come to your community and as you can see in the Trips
and Travels page, no community is too small or too far across Australia.

So
to make it happen, get friends and family, maybe your kindergarten, play group
or whatever other community get togethers you are involved in, to
arrange for me to come your way. It is a great opportunity to have some
wonderful and unique portraits created for you that really wouldn't happen any
other way. Have a look around this website, in the Galleries to see just
what you can expect, and if there isn't anything there, please ask and I may be
able to create it for you. Most outlying areas across Australia need 8
families to be involved in a given area to come there, so start asking around
and get them involved in this worthwhile cause.
Just
think, this coffee table book could be a reminder for you, your children and the
friends that made up your lives at this time - what a magnificent keepsake for
years to come!
